Community Manager


NeedsList is a mission-driven startup designing new solutions for humanitarian aid. We’re looking for a friendly and energetic person who will develop new partnerships with refugee resettlement, migrant, and disaster relief organizations in North America, and strengthen our current global partnerships. This position will be the main contact for all non-profits looking to join NeedsList, onboarding organizations, answering technical questions, and communicating with all donors and volunteers to ensure a positive and seamless experience.

Duties + Responsibilities
  • Here are some of the things you’ll be doing:

    -Identifying and reaching out to refugee resettlement, disaster relief, and migrant organizations in North America.
    -Meeting with community organizations to identify their needs and how NeedsList can support them.
    -Onboarding organizations onto the NeedsList platform by training and supporting list creation.
    -Curating and editing lists and identifying urgent needs.
    -Obtaining user feedback, corresponding regularly with donors and NGOs.
    -Handling technical questions and all inquiries that come in through the site.
    -Assessing the supply and volunteer needs of groups, helping them to identify future needs.
    -Updating and maintaining dashboards and databases.
    -Supporting NeedsList marketing and social media strategy.
    -Support for broader NeedsList strategy globally.
This is a 40 hour per week position - it will begin with a three month contract with the possibility of conversion to a full time position.

  • Extremely detailed oriented
  • Strong technical skills - you don’t need to be a developer but you do need to be comfortable in an array of online environments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proactive in your approach to work--you come with ideas!
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Able to respond quickly to rapidly changing needs and priorities
  • Strong technical skills (not coding, but online management)
  • Familiarity with refugee issues/humanitarian aid preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
